The holiday got off to a violent start in Baton Rouge. A 37-year-old man was found shot in his truck along Boulevard de Province, which is off Old Hammond Highway.

A man believed to be responsible for about 50 burglaries in the Ascension Parish area is now behind bars and his alleged teenage accomplice is in a youth detention center.
